Sometimes the instructors might think of removing a course from being available to everyone and enrolling it in a private course. Also at certain times, courses are removed to prevent further students from joining the course. Closing the enrollment permanently for new interested candidates can also be a reason to remove courses. For promoting a current course, courses are removed.

This article specifically deals with how an instructor can Private, Publish, or even Remove the course to their necessity. Courses enrolled by students cannot be deleted.

Steps to Private A Course 

When a course is private, it does not remain in the marketplace anymore for everyone to see. Students already having access to the course will still be eligible for the course. The following steps are to be followed to Private a course.

1. Direct to the Course Management page.

2. Select the Settings icon at the right-hand top of the page.

3. Scroll down to Course Status and Click Private.

4. Click on the yes option to confirm.

Steps To Publish a Course

A Private course can at any time be published. The steps are,

1. Navigate to the Course Management page.

2. Select Publish Course on the page.

On clicking the Publish Course option immediately the course will be Published and be available in the marketplace. It will return to the marketplace. On the other hand, if the instructor is changing the privacy policy of the course while Publishing then the course will first be re-submitted via the Quality Review Process.

Steps To Remove a Course

If students have enrolled in the course, it cannot be removed. To guarantee the policy of upholding lifetime access to the course to the enrolled students the courses cannot be removed or private. This will be a clear violation of terms and conditions.

On the other hand, if students have not enrolled for the course, it can be published from the marketplace which will prevent further students from enrolling in it.

Unlike the option Publish a course once removed is erased permanently. All the associate discussions, lectures, and contents will be removed from the marketplace if removed.

To remove a course the following steps needs to be followed;

1. Direct to the Course Management page and select the Course Settings icon at the right-hand top of the page.

2. Scrolling down through the page, select Course Status.

3. Click on the Remove option.

4. Select the Yes option to confirm your choice.
